What you may do
Your licence lets you use Neaten for personal or business work, on the computers you use — your desktop and your laptop, for instance. It is a licence for a person, not for a machine: there is no device counter and no activation limit, because the key is verified offline and there is no server to count against.
We are trusting you to read that the way it is meant. One person, the computers that person uses. If several people in an organisation need it, they each need a licence.
What you may not do
- Share, publish, resell or sublicense your licence key.
- Remove or work around the licence check, or distribute something that does.
- Redistribute the application as your own, in whole or in part.
Nothing here restricts anything you are permitted to do by mandatory law, including your rights in the EU regarding interoperability and lawful use of software you have acquired.
What “lifetime” covers, exactly
A lifetime licence is perpetual use of Neaten 1, including every 1.x update. There is nothing to renew and nothing to cancel, and it does not expire.
If a Neaten 2 is ever released, your key keeps working on 1.x for as long as you want it to, and you can decide then whether the new version is worth buying. The licensed major version is recorded inside the signed key itself, so this is how the software actually behaves and not only what this page says.
Subscriptions
A monthly or yearly subscription issues a licence key that is renewed with each payment. If you cancel, the key stays valid until the end of the period you have already paid for, and after that Neaten returns to trial mode: everything still opens, everything on your computer stays where it is, and exporting your own data is what stops.
Your files
Your files, your recipes and your history are yours, are on your computer, and are unaffected by anything to do with licensing. Nothing here grants any right over your data, and Neaten has no mechanism that could reach it.
Ending the licence
This licence ends if you breach it in a way you do not correct after being asked. That does not touch anything already on your computer.
Third-party components
Neaten includes open-source components, each under its own licence; the complete list ships
with the application and is in THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.md in the product repository.
